A picture is worth a 1.000 words…

Finals are over. With only one class left to follow this semester, I can already smell my LLB (Bachelor of Laws).  Although I did voluntarily sign up for a course which I think you could call ‘science for starters’ –  should be interesting. Anyhoo, what I’m trying to say is that now finals are over I’m back on track with planning the recording of my very first EP.

Earlier this week I got the great advice from one of the studios to create a moodboard for my EP. I couldn’t wait to get started, so finished it that same night. It’ll probably change a little throughout the process but at the moment it represents the things that were important while writing the selected songs last year. Pssh, can you spot all the T-Swizzles and A Fine Frenzies? Click!

On saturday I met with one of the producers at his studio and that got me even more excited. On monday I’m meeting with the last studio which I also am very excited about – I’m gonna use the word ‘excited’ way too much during this project.

Then today I had the first ever EP-rehearsal with drummer Matthijs and pianist Maarten (THANKS GUYS!) Some parts already fell into place which is an awesome feeling. Tomorrow I have my last meeting with a studio and then the actual planning can begin. I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious.. THRILLED!

  1. Hi Amber,

I’ve been reading your sister’s blog for some time now, so I thought I would check yours out as well. You have a beautiful voice and I admire the fact that both you and Shanice are following your dreams. Not many people do – myself included. If only I had the same self-confidence and determination.

    Veel Geluk.

    1. Hi there,

Thank you so much for those kind words :) I guess I have a really good example, having Shanice as my sister – she’s the most determined person I know.

‘Do one thing everyday that scares you’ is a good one to try and live by, definitely when it comes to following your dreams.

      Take care! :)
