Heya! Been a while, but I had my first proud-pure-songwriting experience. Remember the Judy Stakee Nashville songwriting retreat I went to in November? Shawndell, one of my co-writing partners, has recorded the song we wrote with Lee Langston, with her band. It brings so many wonderful memories. The assignment we got was to write a journal entry, then pick one of our entries and write a song based on that. We picked my entry, so this one is quite personal! This was, for all of us, the favorite co-write of the retreat. It’s so awesome to hear someone else’s recording of your song! I enjoy it so much more than listening to my own recordings, which once again confirms to me that I’m more a songwriter than a performer.
