I was just minding my own business, soaking up some sunlight in Brasil, when I received an email that my song ‘Name of Love’ had been selected as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition!
How AWESOME is that? There were more than 18.000 submissions, and the finalists are less than 2% of those – and I am one of them! For me, being from this super small country with a not so thriving popmusic industry (I said what I said), this is just as good as winning.
Now the songs will be judged by the celebrity judges, to name just a few of them: Coldplay, Dua Lipa, Tom Waits, The Script and Fleet Foxes. The winners will be announced late April/early May – join me in keeping my fingers crossed. Previous winners are Kehlani, Passenger, Gregory Porter and Bastille. Just sayin’.
Oh, and there is also a People’s Voice winner, voted by you – the people. You can vote for my song ‘Name of Love’ here: https://songwritingcompetition.com/peoplesvoice~category-1
