I know it’s almost February, but I realise I haven’t updated this page since my single ‘Name On It’ came out in October. And not because there’s nothing to share, on the contrary! So here’s a quick ‘what will 2022 bring‘.
In the last quarter of 2021 I applied for a grant. Over the past year a concept for an EP has been beginning to take shape in my head, but it would be a different direction than what I’ve been doing thus far – so I was hesitant. That was until the grant came through, providing me with the financial support needed to record a studio EP the way I want to do it!
So here we are: 2022! Just last Friday I started recording what I think will be the first single for this project and I’m very excited about this song. I’m not completely abandoning my country/pop-roots, but this time around will be a little different; the project will be in my native language! For the last 2 years I’ve been writing more and more Dutch songs and it just feels right to at least once in my life do a project in my mother tongue.
I’m planning on making detailed videodiaries throughout the project, that most likely will be completed in 2023, so stay tuned!
