In the first quarter of 2022 I took on an assignment from BMG Production Music (Benelux). They asked me to write 4 songs that would be suitable for romantic comedies – in Dutch – which I thought was super fun. I really enjoyed writing these happy-go-lucky songs. It was a totally different approach to songwriting than what I’ve been doing so far and I like doing more than just one thing or one genre when it comes to songwriting. With this assignment I learned to turn off my inner critic and write a lighthearted, sometimes cheesy lyric because it suited the brief.
